Privacy notice

When you register, we collect your child’s name, year group and pathway, your own name and contact details, and (for girls) the names of up to two approved male guardians. We use this to run the programme: issuing the passport, verifying progress, and contacting you about your own child.

As the summer progresses we record which prayers were verified and when, checkpoint tallies, and any stamps confirmed by the imam of another masjid. These records exist for one purpose: keeping the scoring accurate and fair for every child.

• No child accounts. Children never log in, and there are no online child profiles.
• No public scores or rankings. A child’s progress is never displayed publicly or compared with other children.
• Display names are minimal. Wherever a child’s name appears outside the core team it is the first name and surname initial only. When the imam of another masjid verifies a prayer by scanning the QR code, they see only the passport code — never the child’s name.
• Confidential notes stay confidential. Anything you share about family circumstances or religious exemptions is visible only to the programme lead and female coordinator. Stamping volunteers never see it.
• Least-privilege access. Every staff and volunteer role sees only what that role needs, and significant actions are recorded in an audit log.

Programme records are kept for 12 months after the programme ends — long enough to resolve any queries, hand out remaining awards and plan the next year — and are then deleted. The printed passport is your child’s to keep forever.

You can at any time ask the programme lead to:

• withdraw your child from the programme;
• export a copy of the information we hold about your child;
• deleteyour child’s records.
